This flower releases a unique fragrance that will carry through the blossoms. Once the blooming has slowed down, trim back the flowers with a hedge trimmer or a pair of small clippers to help promote more growth and continued blooms. Alyssum will grow anywhere between 3 and 6 inches tall. Lobularia maritima, common name Sweet Alyssum or Sweet Alison, also commonly referred to as just Alyssum from the genus in which it was formerly classified, is a low-growing flowering plant in the family Brassicaceae, native to the Mediterranean region andMacaronesia (Canary Islands, Azores). It is an annual plant (rarely a short-lived perennial plant) growing to 10-30 cm tall. The leaves are 1-4 cm long and 3-5 mm broad, oval to lanceolate, with an entire margin. The flowers are sweet-smelling white (rarely pink or lavender), with four petals; they are produced throughout the growing season, or year-round in areas free of frost. Cultivation and uses Lobularia maritima is best planted in early spring, but requires little maintenance when growing. It will flower more profusely if spent blooms are trimmed. When grown in gardens, it is typically used as ground cover, as it rarely grows higher than 20 cm tall. It prefers partial shade, and is resistant to heat and drought. Plants with darker-colored flowers do better in cooler temperatures

Disclaimer: If growing a plant requires more than dirt and occasional water... I'll kill it. However.... I don't know what people are complaining about. I used very cheap bagged topsoil from Dollar General I bought in August of 22 + a tiny bit of Miracle Grow plant food I had left over. I even seeded them way, way too early back in mid February. These seed trays were the cheap 6$ pack from Walmart where you soak the pods in water. I put about 2.5 cups of water w/ 1/4 tsp of Miracle Grow mixed in, put the lid on and forgot about them for about 3-4 weeks while they sat in my garage.Once they started to sprout I took them outside daily for some sun. Nothing crazy right?Next steps: Once the sprouts start to touch the top of the clear lid I'll transplant them. Likely the second week of April. I have 280 to plant and am looking forward to it.Don't overthink this.
