It doesn't actually "assemble"

After 3 years and numerous videos, emails, reviews, and other research, it appears that this cold frame does not, in fact, have any way to secure the lids. In other words, since it is flimsy and, therefore, never square, the idea that the windows could simply "rest" in a channel without snapping in was bound to fail.

I've tried securing it via different methods (tie-on, gorilla glue, small brads) and the only one that works is a brick. Which is iffy, at best, since the materials and construction are so flimsy and, since the windows are sloped something may or may not stay on top of the frame.

The first year I lost an entire crop of greens because the lids blew off. The second year I gave up because I was so frustrated with the 30 minutes it took to refit the lids every time I wanted to ventilate the thing. (You get one one but then in the process of placing the other one, the first one slips off...it's a TWO PERSON JOB TO CLOSE A COLD FRAME!)

This year, I don't know, I'm thinking about taking a baseball bat to it. Then it might, at least, be useful for stress relief.

I just put this together and found it to be a little flimsy compared to the old Juwel cold frame I had from many years ago. I haven't put it out yet but am hoping it will stand up to the wind and rain this spring. I don't think this product will last as long as the old one I had but I'm hoping it will last long enough to pay for itself in the plants I will produce in it.

This product is poorly designed. The materials are cheap and unstable when constructed. I spent almost 45 minutes putting this together, with no help from the instructions (I relied mostly on the picture on the box to identify which parts should go where). After all was said and done, the structure was completely sub par. The lids sit on a support through the top middle of the frame which rest on plastic stands holding up the sides. Nothing locks together, and with no stabilizing cross structures in the bottom, the whole frame is constantly on the verge of collapse. Since I spent money on this (far too much money for the product), I did my best to make this work for me. I caulked the joints and weighed the sides and lids down with logs, and packed dirt up around the edges. That lasted all of two days before the lids blew off and got destroyed. I strongly recommend you spend your money elsewhere.

A fun project and energy conserving

Very good product. It was quite straightforward to assemble and it very light weight.
I have now dug a rather large hole just a bit smaller than the perimeter of the cold frame on top and deep enough that I had to role out of it, not step out. Today I filled the hole with fresh manure and placed the cold frame back over it. I a few days it will have settled and will be ready to put my plants in it for the winter. The manure will keep it a bit warmer during the winter.
Next year I shall remove the manure and put it with my compost, then refill the hole with new manure.
Saves running electricity to the cold frame, helps my garden and is a good, positive use for the manure, which can otherwise become a problem.
I think I may grow tomatoes in it this summer when it warms up.

This was fairly easy to put together, works well for the most part. One design flaw is that there is no easy way to water your plants because the tops don't stay open. I attached 2 short bungee cords to the two top sections to keep them open which works okay but I fear a good stiff wind could damage them. Other than that I like the cold frame, plants are doing well with the protection and light. Time will tell, I don't foresee it lasting too many years but we'll see.

Der größte Witz ist der Aufbau der wohl innerhalb einer Minute stattfinden soll, da kann man ja nur lachen. Wir sind wirklich geübt im Zusammenbau vieler Dinge, aber das ist der Klopper. Die Stärke der Wände, da muss man wirklich vorsichtig sein. Eindeutig steht für uns fest.............das war das erste und letzte Mal :-) das wir dieses Frühbeet gekauft haben.

Das geht von Wackelpudding bis 'klappert schon im Karton'
Die Montage ist easy, die Anleitung könnte detaillierter sein, besonders was das Anbringen der diversen Rahmenteile betrifft. Es ist nämlich nicht egal in welcher Manier und Richtung sie angebracht werden ... IKEA lässt grüssen :-)
Als Stabilisierung habe ich einen Holzrahmen als Unterbau gefertigt und das Ganze daran festgeschraubt(s. Bilder).
Das erste DFB hat so die Stürme von Feb. 2016 problemlos überstanden. Ansonsten liegt das Gelingen nur noch am Grünen Daumen.

Kann hier die negativen Rezensionen nicht nachvollziehen. Nach dem Auspacken, ergeben sich die Aufbaumöglichkeiten quasi von selbst. Die Anleitung ist reich bebildert und verständlich. Natürlich dauert der Aufbau mehr wie 5 Minuten, ist aber, für normal handwerklich begabte und intelligente Menschen, kein Problem. Die Steckverbinder, die die Seiten zusammenhalten, müssen gelegentlich nachfixiert werden, das kann bei festem Aufbau aber auch nicht notwendig sein. Alles in Allem, kann ich das Frühbeet empfehlen.

Absolute Unverschämtheit so etwas überhaupt raus gehen zu lassen, es fehlen diverse Teile und die Oberkrönung, der Karton wurde offensichtlich mindestens einmal wenn nicht mehrmals geöffnet und wieder zu geklebt. Amazon sollte sich diesen Zulieferer mal genauer anschauen. Ich bin sehr verärgert da ich das Frühbeet dringend gebraucht hätte. Eigentlich gibt es keinen Stern aber das ist ja leider nicht möglich.
