Siberian Garlic Bulbs

Siberian Garlic

Siberian garlic is a hardy and easy to grow variety that produces large bulbs with an abundant amount of cloves. This is an excellent choice for gardeners who want to grow garlic but have limited space or have very little time to spend caring for their plants.

Siberian Garlic Growing Instructions

  • Siberian garlic is a hardy and easy to grow variety that produces large bulbs with an abundant amount of cloves. You can plant Siberian garlic in fall or spring, and it will tolerate both soil types including poor soil. This is an excellent choice for gardeners who want to grow garlic but have limited space or have very little time to spend caring for their plants.
  • With beautiful purple skin and delicious, mild flavored bulbs, Siberian garlic is the perfect choice for variety-seeking gardeners. It's also a great option for those with limited space or who don't want to spend much time caring for their plants.
  • To grow garlic split bulb into cloves, simply plant the cloves seperately point up in the ground (about 2 inches deep) and they will sprout a new plant. If you are overwintering your garlic and want to keep a specific variety alive, consider planting it in late summer or early fall. Garlic planted in this manner will go dormant during winter but will pop up in spring when the soil warms up enough for growth to resume.
  • The seed garlic will contain 6-8 cloves in each bulb. Each clove of garlic will produce one full bulb of garlic. Therefore each bulb will produce 6-8 new bulbs. Leave garlic in the ground until it reaches the size you would like to harvest or when the green shoots turn brown.

Planting Siberian Garlic Cloves

Planting Siberian Garlic

Planting Siberian Garlic

To grow garlic split bulb into cloves, simply plant the cloves separately point up in the ground (about 2 inches deep) and they will sprout a new plant. If you are overwintering your garlic and want to keep a specific variety alive, consider planting it in late summer or early fall. Garlic planted in this manner will go dormant during winter but will pop up in spring when the soil warms up enough for growth to resume. Bulbs can be planted in the spring and harvested later in the year.

Siberian Garlic Uses and Applications

Siberian garlic is best suited for both raw and cooked applications such as baking, frying, roasting, and sautéing. It can be consumed raw, chopped into small pieces and cooked, or roasted in bulbs to bring out the creamy, sweet flavor. Siberian garlic is less pungent than other garlic and can add just enough flavor without overwhelming other ingredients. It can be used as a spread on toast and added to stews, soups, dips, mashed potatoes, beans, sauces, and marinades. It can also be mixed into pasta dishes, curries, or stir-fries. Siberian garlic pairs well with spinach, potatoes, meats such as poultry, beef, pork, turkey, and fish, tomatoes, bell pepper, broccoli, asparagus, Brussel sprouts, and grains such as quinoa, barley, and farro. It will keep up to seven months when stored in a cool, dry, and dark place.

1.0 out of 5 stars NO germination at all
Reviewed in the United States on December 11, 2023
I disliked that NONE of the Hardneck garllic in this package did sprout or germinate, none of them! I soacked the bottom for more than a week, no roots, not even one root, I kept changing water, and after a week, I added garlicc from a deifferent seller, and it germinated in just few 3 to 4 days as you can see in the picture, from RETS (mixed garlic). But, this product ... no roots for more than 2weeks in same liquid and conditions.
On the 2ns picture, the germinated garlic came 1 week after this other garlic was not germinating at all, and I added them together, and has been 2 weeks, but only 1 week for the RETS's one.
This seller online says 6 bulbs but they sent 7, which doesn't even matter as none of them would germinate. Send me better ones, or I need my money back because this is so sos so disappointing, NOT even ONE roots for all the pieces of 7 garlic bulbs!
