About this item

  • Catch Beetles by the Bagful – Japanese and Oriental Beetles are invasive species that can wreak havoc on your garden and landscaping. This trap attracts and catches both!
  • How It Works– Once attracted by the pheromone scent, Japanese beetles fly into the large green panels of the trap and are stunned on impact. They then fall into the attached bag. Once inside, they cannot fly out of the trap.
  • Reusable – The attractant cartridge included with this trap will last an entire season. Should the bag become too full, the easy-lock bottom allows the trap to be emptied and reused.
  • Lures Beetles Away from Plants – This trap should be placed at least 30 feet from ornamental plants to lure beetles away from the areas where they are causing damage.
  • Made in the USA – At RESCUE!, our goal is to design and manufacture the safest and most effective pest control solutions available. We proudly manufacture our products in the USA!

More effective than I expected!
5 Stars
More effective than I expected!
I didn’t expect this trap to be this effective! I live just outside Kansas City and these beetles have been a huge nuisance this year, so I decided to try this trap. It was much larger than I expected, but fairly simple to put together. The attractant smelled nice to me, kinda like fragrant flowers and cinnamon. Before I’d finished putting the trap up, beetles started coming to the trap, so I’d say it’s quite effective.I hung it from the deck, which is a fantastic location for catching them, but that also attracted the beetles toward the door, so I may move it at night when it’s not so swarmed. I hung the second trap on the side of the house and it didn’t get anywhere near the action the deck trap got, but maybe they’re too close, so I’m going to move that as well. I’d like to have them away from the gardens & areas where we walk, but the deck seems to be a sweet spot.I’m tempted to put some water in the bag to maybe drown them, but that might be a bad idea. I just didn’t know what to do with the beetles before they die, but it seems we just leave themIn there until they expire, then empty the bag.I cannot say enough how impressed I am with the effectiveness of this trap & how quickly it started working. I’m so pleased and highly recommend it to anyone else affected by these beetles. I had no idea there were even this many around! Maybe I’m just collecting all of the neighborhood beetles, so you’re welcome, neighbors!Update: we ended up throwing these away, not because they didn’t work, but because they worked so well it appeared we attracted all the beetles in town. I don’t know how many beetles a bag holds, probably thousands, but within 36 hours, we’d filled both.My suggestion for these would be to utilize them as a neighborhood-wide project, where the bags are placed in several yards throughout a neighborhood to spread the beetles out, rather than attract them all to one area. I still can’t believe how well these worked!
