The Southland tiller uses a gear-drive system that provides maximum fuel and engine efficiency, allowing the unit to run on less power input then when operated manually and the 150cc gasoline-powered engine allows the user to till larger areas in less time. The tilling width can be adjusted to 11 in., 16 in. or 21 in. for maximum versatility. The 11 in. front rotating tines rack up to 8 in. deep into the ground to turn up fresh soil. The front rotating tines help to move the tiller forward while in operation and the swing tail with drag stake allows for an easy change from till to transport mode. Power Level

The tiller was not too hard to assemble. The instructions were easy to follow. The wheels are sturdy making it easy to move around. The tiller has plenty of power. I used it to start a new garden and it was able to tear through the grass with ease. I would definitely recommend this tiller.

Great machine for your garden.

This was my first tiller purchase ever and I am using it for a new vegetable garden. My soil is very heavy on the clay with rocks, so this tiller is not for breaking up this sort of soil for the first time. I rented a sod cutter to remove the grass, then broke up the soil with a shovel and pick. It was a lot of work! But after the initial soil break up, this tiller really went to work breaking up the soil! I added some compost and bagged soil to amendnthe soil and am very pleased. I would definitely buy this again.

Great small garden tiller

Easy to assemble, tilled 25'x25' garden area with rocks and the tiller worked fine, plenty of power.

Item was as advertised. Delivered on time. Started easily. Required assembly.Have not used enough to decide if I like the way it tills or not.

When I got it it can in a big box,so I had to put it together. not easy. The side fenders didn't fit properly could only use 2 bolts on each side.  Very hard on gas. top heavy, bounces like crazy,  Drag bar useless, rear wheels need some sort of adjustment Wont go forward ,had to pull it backwards to get the soil worked up. .plenty of power..needs some sort of weigh added to the front.

The motor will shut off when tilling on hard soil within five minutes. It has to be reprimed and restarted to continue.

I received the shipment and the box was torn open at the bottom. The was also a hole made by what appears to be a forklift which broke open a parts box.
After 3 hours working to put it together the tiller worked for 25 minutes and stopped working. I would start it up again and would run a couple of minutes and then stall out.

Then I had to lug it back to Walmart to return it. Called manufacturer and left a message and never received a call back.

Pretty much decided to skip the garden this year.
